TAPATORU
SPLISH SPLASH 15th MARCH 2011 8pm ~10pm

Kia ora!
Tapatoru was scheduled to be launched on Thursday 25th February in Wellington. Alas although we had notified that the launch was to go ahead rain or shine, the weather was also cooler than expected for a summer's day. On notification with the venue and the weather forecast in general, we were encouraged to cancel the booking (as did everyone else who booked the pool that week).
By Monday afternoon, we were ringing and emailing those people on the invite list to notify that the launch was cancelled.
On a lighter note, we had received a good number of rsvp's especially from our wider supporters and friends and were pleased with the positive response from our community on the idea of Tapatoru. Although we are still shaping and planning - the appreciation that we are developing as we are going seems to sit well with our people instead of something that is set in concrete and inflexible to our fluid and ever changing community.

Why swimming? Something completely different that alot of us don't get to participate in, fun and outdoors. 8pm start will be a quick Kia ora and about Tapatoru, then it hit the pool, closely followed by a BBQ and opportunities to socialise. A fun-packed hour and half. The pool is privately booked for this function however, we will require a couple of helpful lifeguards to oversee we are safe and well.
Organisers: Karen & Peri Te Wao, Tapatoru.
