Acknowledging our past
and remembering our people
Our Maori trans whanau in Wellington are people we have either: (a) known briefly, (b) or for a very long time; or (c) who were known to us. As much as they are a part of their own history and family, they are also a part of our Maori trans history. While we have a growing community within Wellington of all ages, tribal affiliations and backgrounds, we also are aware of all those who have passed away.
This section of Tapatoru is dedicated to our Maori trans whanau or people who have or had a close association with the trans community in Wellington who have passed on. While we are unable to provide information on all our people, their circumstances, their stories - we would like to invite contributions to help piece together some of our history in Wellington. If you know of any of our brothers and sisters from the Maori trans and non-Maori trans community here in Wellington - we welcome your words, pics, details. All material will be treated with great respect and all information sent through will be processed to comply with internet publication standards. Please email: info@tapatoru.org.nz anytime.
Thank you for sharing.
